Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 10, 2026

Short version: Your uploaded file is deleted within 24 hours. The Markdown output stays in your account history until you close your account, because that's the point of the history. We never sell your documents, and we don't use their content to train models. We do use an advertising cookie — you can block it and the Service still works.

This Privacy Policy describes how mintparse ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use mintparse.com.

1. Information We Collect

Documents you upload: the PDF, .docx or .pptx files you submit for conversion, and the Markdown we produce from them.

Account information: your email address, and — if you sign in with Google — the account identifier Google returns to us. We keep this for as long as your account exists.

Credit and billing records: your credit balance and a ledger of every credit movement (purchases, grants, conversions). We do not store card numbers or payment credentials; Paddle handles those and sends us only a transaction reference and amount.

Usage and anti-abuse data: server logs (IP address, timestamp, page count), and — when a new account claims its free credit grant — the IP address and a device identifier stored in the mp_uid cookie. We keep these to stop one person claiming the free grant repeatedly.

Advertising identifier: if you arrive from a Google ad, we store the click identifier (gclid) Google appends to the URL, so that we can attribute a later purchase to that ad.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To convert your document and deliver the Markdown output
  • To keep your conversion history available to you
  • To operate your account, credit balance, and API keys
  • To process payments through Paddle
  • To send transactional email — sign-in codes, receipts, a low-balance notice, and conversion notifications
  • To detect and prevent abuse of the Service and of the free credit grant
  • To measure the effectiveness of our advertising

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use the content of your documents to train AI models.

3. Data Retention

  • Uploaded source files are deleted from our servers within 24 hours of conversion.
  • Markdown output and run history are retained in your account so you can return to them, for as long as the account is open.
  • If you close your account, your conversion history is permanently deleted 30 days later. Your credit balance and billing ledger are retained, because they are financial records.
  • Server logs are retained for up to 30 days.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third parties to operate the Service. Those marked receives document content process your file or its extracted text on our behalf.

  • Google Cloud — server infrastructure (Europe region). Receives document content. See Google Cloud Privacy.
  • Modal — GPU compute used to extract the layout of paid conversions. Receives document content. See Modal Privacy Policy.
  • Anthropic — the Claude API polishes the extracted text into clean Markdown. It receives the extracted text of your document, not the original file. Anthropic does not train on API inputs. Receives document content. See Anthropic Privacy Policy.
  • Paddle — merchant of record and payment processing. See Paddle Privacy Policy.
  • Resend — delivery of transactional email. See Resend Privacy Policy.
  • Google — sign-in (if you choose it), and Google Ads conversion measurement. To measure a purchase we send Google the click identifier and a hashed form of your email address. See Google Privacy Policy.

5. Cookies

We use a small number of cookies and browser storage keys:

  • mp_sess — keeps you signed in. Essential.
  • mp_uid — a device identifier used to stop repeated claims of the free credit grant. Essential for abuse prevention.
  • mp_oauth_state, mp_oauth_continue — short-lived, protect the Google sign-in flow. Essential.
  • mp_gclid — records the Google ad click that brought you here, so a later purchase can be attributed to it. Not essential.
  • Google Ads cookies, set by the Google tag we load on our marketing pages, used to attribute purchases to ads. Not essential — blocking these does not affect the Service.
  • localStorage — remembers your light/dark theme choice and whether you've dismissed the welcome banner.

6. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete the personal data we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing.

You can close your account at any time from your account page, which deletes your conversion history after 30 days. For a full erasure — including your account record — or for a copy of your data, email support@mintparse.com and we will respond within 30 days. We may need to retain billing records where law requires it.

7. International Transfers

Our servers are in the European Union. Some of the providers listed above process data in the United States. Where that happens, transfers rely on the safeguards those providers offer, such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

8. Security

All connections to mintparse.com are encrypted with TLS (HTTPS). API keys and session tokens are stored server-side and can be revoked from your account page. We apply industry-standard security practices to protect your data in transit and at rest.

9. Children's Privacy

mintparse is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
